Canon MAXIFY GX7020 Driver Download

Canon MAXIFY GX7020 Driver Download & Reviews– The Canon Maxify GX7020 delivers a lot of capability, but its main claim to fame is its small size. Its closest competitor, which includes more lasers than the inkjet AIO, is faster, and the laser AIO also has a lower price tag. The GX7020 still runs very compact for its level of paper handling. Its refilled ink tanks provide a significantly lower cost-per-page than any competitive laser model, which can make them significantly cheaper in the long run—assuming you print enough to take advantage of the savings. The much faster and slightly larger Epson EcoTank Pro ET-5850 ($849.99) remains our Editors’ Choice for mid-range color AIO, but if you need a printer with 600 pages and don’t have much space, the GX7020 can be a great choice. appropriate.

The main strength of the GX7020—and its smaller sibling, the Canon Maxify GX6020 is that the money-a-day savings can make a lot of money over time. For example, the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw ($599), is much cheaper upfront. But the M479fdw’s printing costs are 2.2 cents for a black text page and 13.9 cents for a color page, compared to Canon’s estimates of 2 cents per page on average for the GX6020 and GX7020. Print 5 pages of text with each and the Canon model will save you a penny from HP. Print 50,000, and they’ll save $100. For color pages, one page saves 11.9 cents. Print 3,000, and you save more than making up for the retail price difference.

Paper handling is another strong point. The GX7020 has two 250-sheet letter-sized drawers and a rear tray that holds 100 sheets of legal-size paper, letterhead, labels, and other occasional-use stock. The recommended monthly duty cycle is up to 3,300 pages, with a maximum of 45,000. Duplex (two-sided) printing is supported. The automatic document feeder (ADF) on the letter-size flatbed holds 50 letter-size or 10 legal-size sheets and can scan both sides of each page at once. The menu settings allow you to copy simplex and duplex documents to the simplex or duplex output of your choice. This is where the GX7020 significantly outperforms the GX6020, which has only one paper drawer and no auto-duplex ADF.

If you set up the printer on a network connected to the internet, you can print from and scan to cloud folders using the printer’s LCD touch screen. There are several ways to send a scan as an email, and scanning and sending to another internet-connected printer is also an option. There’s even a link for Google Classroom, which can be useful for students and teachers alike.

It’s Hard to Spill the Ink
Setting up the GX7020 is mostly straightforward, although there are a few quirks in the software installation. Weighing 28.6 pounds and just 12.4 by 16.2 by 15.8 inches (HWD), this printer is light enough for most people to move around unaided. That’s not true of any of its direct competitors other than the GX6020, which is a few inches shorter (because it only has one paper drawer) and weighs a few pounds less. The Epson ET-5850 and ET-5880 — which we called “slim” and “relatively small” just a year ago — weigh 39.2 pounds and are a few inches larger in every dimension, and the equivalent AIO lasers tend to be larger and heavier.

The GX7020 ships with a total arrangement of cyan, maroon, yellow, and dark inks, in addition to two extra jugs of the dark. The dark tank holds just a single ink bottle, however, the supposition will be that you will print a larger number of pages with dark text than with variety. The replacement bottles are rated at 6,000 images (with one image on each side of the duplex page) for a bottle of black ink, and a collective 14,000 images for each cyan, yellow, and magenta set. Canon says the bottle that ships with the printer will print fewer pages, as some ink is required for the initial setup.

A copy is in progress, with the page still in the ADF input tray, and the printout in the printer output tray.
When I hear “ink bottles,” I tend to reach for latex gloves and paper towels, but that’s not really necessary with the GX7020. If you follow the directions, the ink won’t start flowing until the bottle is positioned properly, and I didn’t spill a drop even when I removed each empty bottle from the top of the tank.

Slightly Slow, but Fast Enough
Canon rates the GX7020 at 24 pages per minute (ppm) for black simplex printing and 15.5ppm for color. That’s slower than its competitors (excluding the GX6020, which has the same engine and printing speed). The ET 5850 and ET 5880 are rated at 25ppm for both, and most comparable AIO lasers are still faster.

To test performance, I connected the printer to the network via Ethernet and ran the test using our standard Windows 10 Pro printer testbed. For text yield, I coordinated the GX7020 at 17ppm, utilizing our 12-page Microsoft Word text record. On our full set-up of business applications, which incorporates a few variety illustrations and different pictures, it just figures out how to 6.9ppm. For reference, the ET-5850 prints Word records at 24ppm and full bundles at 18.3ppm.

When I tested duplex printing, the GX7020 delivered a Word text document at 10.7 images per minute. For 4-by-6 photos, an average of 48 seconds using Canon recommended Semi-Gloss Plus Photo Printer paper.

The GX7020 can print on custom paper sizes up to 5 creeps by 47 inches. Yield quality for text, designs, and photographs is all at the high finish of the AIO inkjet range. The text on plain paper is exceptionally sharp and extremely simple to peruse even in 4 places, making it difficult to distinguish from laser output unless there is a tendency to smudge a bit after I put a few drops of water on it. Full-page graphics tend to leave the paper feeling damp as soon as they are printed; once dry, color ink performs better than black ink in resisting smudges from wet fingers.

Photos on recommended paper are perfect for tri-fold brochures and the like. They also resist stains when handled with wet hands.
