Canon PIXMA G7020 Driver Free Download Reviews– There are more printers on the market these days than you can swing a stick. Whether it’s a small home printer or a willing office printer, there’s a lot to choose from. However, not all printers are created equal. You can never rely on an overnight flight manufacturer. There are only a handful of reliable manufacturers on the market, especially when it comes to office printers.
Apart from HP, Canon is one of the few models that is truly reliable. It has a long history not only in the printing world, but also based on movie cameras. And today we will look at the PIXMA G7020, one of their newest offers. We will take a deep look at its features so you can decide if it fits the bill. So let’s start!
The G7020 is a full-featured office printer that sends print, scan, copy and fax. Whether you work from home or provide an office, it does everything your business needs. It is quite meaty, 15.9 inches wide, 14.6 inches deep and 9.3 inches high. It weighs 29 pounds, which is surprisingly heavy. This is because it gives the package a lot of power and features.
The shell is made of glossy black PVC plastic, which can take a beating if necessary. On top you will find an automatic document feeder (ADF) that faces to the left. This feeder allows you to scan, copy and fax multi-page documents. When operations are finished, the pages are distributed in a small tray under the ADF for easy access. But this only works if the pages are separate. If the pages are bound together or stapled, you can use the scanners to read them one by one. The scanner cover is about an inch thick and opens easily from the front.
On the back of the machine there is a hopper with a relatively small capacity for your office paper. By positioning the hopper in this open configuration, the G7020 allows you to add pages when printing. If you prefer a standard, drawer-style funnel, the primary funnel is also impressive. It has a capacity of 350 pages, which is more than enough to handle big jobs. There is a small window on the edge of the bin that allows you to see how much paper is left. Your pages will never end with surprises in the middle of the work again.
Large colored ink wells are located to the right of the reservoir. Since they are wells, not standard cartridges, there are windows on the front. Similar to the window on the reservoir, these windows allow you to see how much ink is left in each well. If you hate to be surprised with an empty ink cartridge, you will appreciate this feature. The black ink tank is located on the left with a similar window for easy visibility.
Hit the middle of the machine, you will find the control panel that sits at an angle for ergonomics. It has intuitive controls with separate buttons for color and black and white copies. It has a standard numeric keypad and a stop button that can finish the work in progress immediately. On the left, you will find the menu controls as well as the scan, copy, fax and print buttons. Finally, there is a button for fast and easy WiFi pairing.
If you want a bigger funnel for the biggest jobs possible, there are many options. Check the HP OfficeJet Pro 8020 for one of the most reliable options. It is a high volume printer but does not offer refillable ink wells from the G7020.
A common disappointment with printers is the use of ink cartridges. These are standard since the first dot matrix printers. They have the advantage of clicking in place and distributing ink at a known rate. However, they do not offer easy visibility. However, starting in the mid-90s, manufacturers began adding software that allows you to view the ink level. This is a useful feature, but still requires you to navigate through the menus. In other words, your ink level was still not visible at a glance. And when you run out of ink, you still had to replace expensive cartridges.
In the 2000s, manufacturers started using refillable ink cartridges. These resolved the cartridge replacement issue, but not the visibility issue. Also, the filling process was often messy. Refillable cartridges can save you a few dollars, but few have used them.
Canon’s PIXMA G7020 solved this problem using refillable ink wells. The process is clean and easy as wells are designed from the ground up to fill. For safe closing, they open from the top with snap-fit covers. They open easily when you need them, and you can even refill them in the middle of a job. Between these and dual feed hoppers, you will have the opportunity to print large jobs with minimal interruption.
However, you don’t have to worry about running out of ink. The black ink well will hold up to 6,000 pages of ink, depending on the density. In addition, CYK color ink wells can hold up to 7,700 pages. Now, this is only an estimate. It depends on what you print, color density and other variables. But whatever you do, you’re still talking about a serious capacity. Black ink is pigment-based, while CYK colors are industry-standard dye-based. So you will not lose quality compared to traditional ink cartridges.
You save a lot compared to cartridges, not just because the ink is refillable. With the printer, you will receive a full set of CYK inks and three black bottles. As a result, you will be able to print thousands of pages before investing in any refills.
What happens if the photo printer is exactly what you need? In this case, consider the HP DeskJet 3639. It is more compact than the G7020 and is specially designed for photos. However, it can manage document printing for smaller jobs.
Although the G7020 can be connected via Ethernet, it is also a capable WiFi printer. Indeed, WiFi features are among the best. It comes with Canon PRINT Inkjet / SELPHY application which allows you to setup and operate from your smartphone. The app also allows remote management of your printer queue. If a document freezes while spooling, you don’t need to find a PC to clean the queue.
This app also offers other useful features. Thanks to its application, you can print photos and documents from social media sites. These include Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and Photobucket. You can also print from shared document sites such as Dropbox, Evernote, Google Drive, and Microsoft OneDrive.
If you prefer to use your own printing services, the G7020 supports many of them. You can print from Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print. This allows you to print directly from Gmail and Google Docs without the need for an external application. You can do this from your mobile device, PC, Apple device and even from a Linux machine or Chromebook. After all, this gives you many options for any home or business.
The final decision
We were particularly impressed by the refillable ink wells. Many printers can use refillable cartridges, but few are designed to refill from the start. Aside from how easy this is, you will save money. The cartridge-free design saves waste, which is a huge win for both the environment and your wallet.
But there’s much more to the innovative ink system from the G7020. It also has a generously sized funnel for larger print jobs. The viewing window is a nice touch, allowing you to grab the tabs on your paper without pulling the drawer. No ink is left in the matching viewing windows in the ink wells.
In addition, the G7020 offers all the standard features you would expect from an office printer. Scanning, faxing, and copying are all quick and complete with a fast-fed ADF. We were also big fans of all the application and online features of the G7020. It can print from almost any online service, which can meet almost everyone’s needs.
